We’re happy to announce that the winner of Tech LDN Apprentice of the Month is Enkil Ceron Alvarez @ TechRelate!
LDN Apprenticeships highlights a clear message of what makes an AWESOME Apprentice; they must show energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, ability to take feedback and propensity to take action (EEWAP). Read Enkil’s nominationbelow:
Energy: Enkil has embraced the role of first line engineer on our support desk with real vigour. Having quickly combatted his initial nervousness, he does not shy away from answering the phone – even if the trickiest customer’s name is flashing up on the phone. The reassurance and expertise he is beginning to demonstrate with our customers means that he is increasingly being asked for by name when clients call in, a sure sign of how well he has adapted to his role.
Enthusiasm: Enkil has shown how keen he is to familiarise himself with unknown technology and as well as getting to grips with what we have in the office, he has obtained his home router’s username and password so – in his own words – he can play around with it. He has taken a laptop home to enable this – as well as facilitate him working from home should the need arise – showing a real enthusiasm to always be learning and do the best job he can.
Willingness To Learn & Ability To Take Feedback: Our MD Julian has taken on a mentoring role of Enkil and when he is in the office, is seated beside him. This enables Enkil to get 1st hand insight into how Julian handles clients / calls and it is becoming increasingly evident that he is applying the TechRelate approach to his own day to day. Being sat so close to Julian, also means Julian gets to listen in on his calls and advise him on the best course of action – sometimes mid-call. It can be difficult to listen to the customer on the phone and be advised what to do by someone close by but Enkil takes Julian’s guidance in his stride, takes note of all suggestions of how to be more effective and applies these learnings to his subsequent calls.
Propensity To Take Action: At the beginning of the year – as part of our ongoing ISO accreditation, we reviewed our ‘Internal Systems Champion’ list. Enkil was appointed responsibility for the Technical Area – maintaining structure, tidiness and availability of tools. Since he has had this responsibility, the Technical Area has never stayed so organised and he takes time every day to keep it in shape!
