We are happy to announce that the winner of Future LDN June Apprentice of the Month is Isabel @ Funding Circle!
Funding circle is a company dedicated to supporting small business’ in financial loaning. We’ve had several amazing young people work here and excel in the workplace such as Apprentice of the year 2019, Ellie O’Reilly. Isobel is one of many who since arrival has become an asset to the team whilst demonstrating valuable workplace qualities.
LDN Apprenticeships highlights a clear message of what makes an AWESOME Apprentice; they must show energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, ability to take feedback and propensity to take action (
Isabel comes into work every day with a smile on her face and brings a huge amount of positivity to the desk. She gets on with everyone in the team, is a brilliant team player and will always step forward to cover other people. She is always willing to help others and I have received great feedback about her from her colleagues and also others around the business.
Isabel has expressed how grateful she is to be here and I can see that every day in the effort she puts in. She completes her coursework to an excellent standard and is great at keeping me in the loop on how it is going. In her probation meeting she came with loads of ideas on what she wanted to improve on and her 6 month development plan. This level of enthusiasm and commitment to the role really embodies the Funding Circle values.
Willingness To Learn:
Isabel has always been willing to take on new challenges even when they’ve pushed her outside of her comfort zone. I often look to Isabel to take on additional responsibilities as she is always keen to push herself, will never complain, and will get her head down straight away, ensuring she gets up to speed as quickly as possible. I have also been really impressed by the fact that during quieter times she has taken it upon herself to arrange to shadow other people in the team to gain more knowledge in other areas.
Ability To Take Feedback:
I have weekly catch ups with Isabel and during these she will always proactively seek feedback. Throughout her probation period she would often check in with me to ensure she was exactly where she needed to be, and if she was ever falling behind she would make sure she knew what she needed to do to catch up. She is very calm-natured and takes on feedback well and will make a visible effort to implement it in the following week.
Propensity To Take Action:
Isabel is targeted on both her volume and quality of work and at the time of writing she has exceeded her targets for 12 weeks in a row which is exceptional for someone who has only been here since the start of the year. She has recently been successful in obtaining a new role in another department and I know she do an amazing job there too!
