Priyanga @ eu Networks – Future LDN Apprentice of the Month

We are happy to announce that the winner of Future LDN Apprentice of the Month is Priyanga @ euNetworks!

LDN Apprenticeships highlights a clear message of what makes an AWESOME Apprentice; they must show energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, ability to take feedback and propensity to take action (EEWAP).

Priya was nominated by her Skills Coach – Steve, and the feedback was provided by Priya’s line-manager and Network Development Director at euNetworks -Patrick Sheridan.

You can read the full nomination below!

Energy

Priya is always positive and keen to be involved in Network Development meetings. She takes on tasks without issue and seeks out how to resolve any roadblocks by talking to colleagues and asking for guidance. She regularly asks me if she can help or provide support to the team and programmes we are working on.

Enthusiasm

Priya is enthusiastic about what Net Dev does and why! What our role is in the company and how we deliver success. She takes on completes tasks without issue and completed to a high standard.

Willingness To Learn

Priya is always keen to learn and questions all the team on strategy, decisions and assumptions. The Net Dev role is unusual in that it consists mainly of people who have years of experience in various telco fields. Priya never gets overawed or flinches from asking the team questions on what we are doing. I think she deserves a lot of credit for maintaining a positive approach where others, I imagine, may not. She takes notes and records what she has learnt for future reference.

Ability To Take Feedback

Priya is always willing to listen to feedback from the team and keen to hear how she can further her learning. She does listen and take notes of areas where we think she can improve her knowledge.

Propensity To Take Action

As mentioned Priya is always keen to help and support the team. She will reach out to the team and her colleagues pro-actively. A recent example of this was when she was asked to produce some GIS / KMZ maps for a project which was a complex, time consuming task. It needed technical help so rather than give up she asked an SE member for support and worked it through to a successful conclusion.

I would like to say that Priya is a genuinely nice person and has always added positivity to the team. She has always wanted to do her best and be involved in the Net Dev area which is not easy for someone coming in to company without experience. She is a valuable team member and deserves recognition for her great work this year.

Congratulations Priya!

Sean @ Twisted Fish – Tech LDN Apprentice of the Month

Sean @ Twisted Fish – Tech LDN Apprentice of the Month

We are happy to announce that the winner of Tech LDN Apprentice of the Month is Sean @ Twisted Fish!

Twisted Fish are specialists in IT infrastructure and cyber security. They operate IT support helpdesks and infrastructure projects for large corporates and small to medium businesses nationwide.

LDN Apprenticeships highlights a clear message of what makes an AWESOME Apprentice; they must show energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, ability to take feedback and propensity to take action (EEWAP).

Sean was nominated by his Skills Coach – Aziz, and the feedback was provided by Sean’s line-manager and Senior Technical Support Engineer at Twisted Fish – Enda Hehir.

You can read the full nomination below!

Energy

Sean has shown the level of energy and interest that is needed to keep up with a very busy IT support desk. Due to the nature of our business, we are constantly on the phone with clients, so being positive in interactions with our client base is very important. He has also worked on internal projects setting up new machines and desk setups for new starters, and has been instructing the new people on how their setup works. We have had nothing but hugely positive feedback from managers about his attitude and professionalism.

Enthusiasm

Sean quickly showed a level of willingness to learn and succeed in this new challenging role. He is always asking questions, always wanting to push himself out of his comfort zone to see if he is able to take the next task on. IT is a vast world and can be very overwhelming to a new person coming in with no experience, but he has not shied away from any challenge put in front of him. Because of his pushing, Sean is actually going to be working on the live 1st line Helpdesk come the start of January.

Willingness To Learn

When not on an assigned task, Sean is always studying, be that internal systems he will use in his role as a 1st line Support engineer, or Microsoft subjects for his LDN coursework or further exams he is looking to take. When being instructed on various fixes for our clients issues, he is always attentive, takes notes, and asks questions if required. I know that if Sean has been taught a subject, there is no need for repeated explanations, as he has taken on board the information the first time. This is vital in our line of work, as this directly impacts his effectiveness when dealing with clients directly.

Ability To Take Feedback

We have had several employee reviews with Sean since starting with us and each time I have seen a jump in his confidence with the role he is being asked to train for. We have spoken about what courses and exams he will look at taking in 2020 to help move himself, and our business forward, and he is taking this all on board. He also questions if he can do anything differently, or better, which shows a level of self-reflection we find in our best team members.

Propensity To Take Action

Sean started with Twisted Fish with two other apprentices, but quickly showed the level of “wanting” that is needed to exceed in this company. He has been heavily involved with our move from our new office back to our old premises. He took on tasks with our Senior Technical Lead to deliver this project with no fear.

To expand on the above, Sean was tasked with assisting the Senior Technical Lead to plan and execute the move of 20 staff member to our newly refurbished office. No task was too small for him to be involved with, from moving desks and equipment, to working and planning out the networking for each user’s desk. This was the first time he was ever involved in a project like this, but was a pleasure to work with. He had every desk ready for the staff member to just plug in and work, with no issues reported. He was able to work unsupervised but was not afraid to ask when the work became out of his knowledge base. To say that our Technical Lead was very impressed is an understatement (whom is VERY hard to impress).

We recently had a blind vote for our end of year party on the person who had made the biggest impact of the year. Though Sean came second in this list, he only lost due to the fact he has not worked here all year!

Congratulations Sean!

Frankie @ Empiric Solutions – Tech LDN Apprentice of the Month

Frankie @ Empiric Solutions – Tech LDN Apprentice of the Month

We are happy to announce that the winner of Tech LDN Apprentice of the Month is Frankie @ Empiric Soloutions!

Empiric soloutions are a specialist technology recruitment agency working in data, digital, cloud and security across all industries internationally!

LDN Apprenticeships highlights a clear message of what makes an AWESOME Apprentice; they must show energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, ability to take feedback and propensity to take action (EEWAP).

Frankie was nominated by his Skills Coach – Aziz, and the feedback was provided by Frankie’s line-manager and Head of Systems Director at Empiric – David Laubscher.

You can read the full nomination below!

Energy

Since Frankie has been with us he has taken on everything we have thrown at him with a smile. No task is too daunting he has integrated well with both the front and back office teams and has quickly become the go to person  for the staff. I often hear his name being called out to go assist other employees.

Enthusiasm

Frankie looks after all of our first line support for all of our sites both locally and abroad. He has rapidly gained a good understanding of the structure of the business and how it runs, this allows him to prioritise and manage his own work load which he completes with minimal fuss.

Willingness To Learn

While our environment is not typical for an IT department he has been able to learn the ins and the outs quite quickly to best serve the employees. He is also eager to learn things  that are outside of his area of work  so that he is ready to progress when the time comes.

Ability To Take Feedback

One of Frankie’s best traits is his ability to understand why it is he has gone wrong when I have to correct him,  which is few and far between sometimes I do not have the time to fully explain the reasons and he will go away and do further research himself to get a fuller understanding.

Propensity To Take Action

As Frankie has gotten used to the environment he has come in to his own and now actively seeks out ways to improve the environment after being a little shy to take ownership in the early stages of his time with us.

I gave Frankie the project of rebuilding our F1 racing simulator which he is well on the path of doing.  Every day he has a few employees keenly asking him for the progress of the project as they all want to have a go in the new car.

He is an asset to our business full stop!

Congratulations Frankie!

Raeanna @ eu Networks – Future LDN Apprentice of the Month

Raeanna @ eu Networks – Future LDN Apprentice of the Month

We are happy to announce that the winner of Future LDN Apprentice of the Month is Raeanna @ euNetworks!

LDN Apprenticeships highlights a clear message of what makes an AWESOME Apprentice; they must show energy, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, ability to take feedback and propensity to take action (EEWAP).

Millie was nominated by her Skills Coach – Steve, and the feedback was provided by Raeanna’s line-manager and HR Director at euNetworks – Emma Azemi.

You can read the full nomination below!

Energy

Raeanna has always maintained a great level of energy from day 1.  Not only is she engaged and enthusiastic, she has a positive energy also.  Raeanna is her own person and that is something I admire greatly is someone so young.  She is so professional and for me sets a high benchmark for apprentices.

Enthusiasm

Raeanna is extremely enthusiastic about everything. When she is given a task she works really hard to complete it and with a smile on her face. She has a brilliant work ethic that is just excellent!

Willingness To Learn

Raeanna shows great willing on a daily basis. It is because of her strength in this area that she has covered so much in her time with us. Right from the start she became an integral part of the HR team because she asked questions, she took notes and she followed up. Raeanna helps support 5 European countries from a HR perspective and always asks questions regarding local legislations, practices and has taken it upon herself to attend webinars

Ability To Take Feedback

Raeanna actively seeks out feedback and is very open to hearing it. She takes feedback and learns from it, which I think is a very mature approach.

Propensity To Take Action

Raeanna has to take action on a daily basis. If she didn’t we would have interviews not being attended, contracts not being drafted, references not being provided, systems not up to date, information missing in payroll and a whole load of unhappy people in between.

Although it was towards the beginning of her apprenticeship, I can not let it go unacknowledged just how much Raeanna excelled in her support of recruitment. So much so that she created a whole other role for an apprentice!

With guidance from our Director, Talent Acquisition, Raeanna was screening candidates within weeks! She was the first point of contact for many who have now gone on to join our business. The task of doing an initial telephone screen with candidates was a daunting one for Raeanna but she worked hard to get herself comfortable, learn the questions, take guidance and just went for it. The impact that has had in saving time for our recruiting managers is tangible.

Further, Raeanna was heavily involved in recruiting for our annual summer intern programme. At the end of the programme the interns stand up and present to the whole company. A number of them directly mentioned Raeanna and the help she had given and impression she had made on them.

I have been involved in running the apprenticeship programme in euNetworks from the very first day and I can honestly say that Raeanna is one of the stand out apprentices for me and her attitude and the way she conducts herself is a really big part of that! I can not imagine the HR team without Raeanna now.

Congratulations Raeanna!
