Ten Years of LDN Apprenticeships. From Our Alumni…

Event team-leaders, expert coders, marketing maestros - just some of the awesome jobs our LDN alumni have gone onto since completing their apprenticeship with LDN over the past ten years!

For our tenth anniversary, we asked some of our alumni to talk about their experience with LDN Apprenticeships and how it has helped them to where they are today!

We’ve put together a collection of the best responses below…

An apprenticeship has provided me with on the job software development experience with exciting and challenging projects.

The guidance and support you get from the team at LDN Apprenticeships is unmatched and will definitely set you on the right path.

My time with LDN Apprenticeships has taken me from an amateur in everything development to now a Tech Manager and Fullstack Developer at a company based in London.

My experience with LDN Apprenticeships was, to sum it up, brilliant. The idea to introduce candidates to clients without a CV is great in my opinion & really opens the door for young candidates who don't have a strong CV but have the personality for the job offered.

Everyone was really supportive at LDN, whether it was helping me in the workshops or with my coursework, they were always on hand and happy to help.

I wouldn't be where I am today without LDN Apprenticeships.

I would not have got my current role at BT Sport without having my previous job experience at Cartoon Network and BBC and I definitely know that I would never have been able to work for the BBC without having the work and life experience I gained during my time at O2 Think Big and LDN Apprenticeships.

I always like to take the time to reflect on my past

experiences and remember those who gave me a chance and so with that, I will forever be grateful to LDN Apprenticeships for giving me that opportunity to jumpstart my career at just 18 years of age.

Since starting my apprenticeship back in 2017, I feel like so many doors suddenly became open to me. One day I was at LDN, training on how to do a good job interview, and the next I had secured an apprenticeship as a Sales Engineer with euNetworks.

I didn't even know what a Sales Engineer was before Tech City Stars so I could never have trained to become one or known that’s what I wanted to do for my career.

This is just one example of the breadth of opportunities there are from an apprenticeship and how many jobs are out there that young people aren't aware of. In my year of being an apprentice, I visited Dublin and Frankfurt for work trips.

To be able to travel with work in my first year was just wow, considering I was working in fast-food and going to school a few months prior. With travel comes meeting new people and making connections.

From my apprenticeship, I got promoted to Associate SE, with a year on from that getting promoted again to Junior SE with the scope to be SE next year.

There is no going back for me now, this is my path for life and I couldn’t be more grateful to LDN for making this all possible.

Not going to University was a big decision for me and deciding to start an apprenticeship with LDN Apprenticeships was the best thing I could have done.

I love the values they hold such as EEWAP and I know I'll be fully supported and challenged throughout the year and I'm so excited that I have found a career that I can move forward with!
