Frequently Asked Questions

Looking to apply for an LDN Publishing Professional Apprenticeship? We’ve answered some of the most commonly asked questions about the LDN Publishing Professional Programme below.

  • We hold monthly inductions and when publishing roles are advertised, they are filled quite quickly! So we suggest applying as soon as possible.

This may result in opportunities coming down from our Career hub before the listed application deadline due to the volume of applications.

  • You can apply when we have live opportunities on our Career Hub. You will need to create an account on our Career Hub to apply and remember, we don’t accept CVs!

  • Apprenticeships don't follow the same deadlines as schools, colleges or universities and new opportunities go live on our Career Hub when an employer is recruiting.

We can’t give you exact dates or times, as the Publishing Professional roles come in at various times throughout the year. We recommend you regularly check the LDN Career Hub so you don’t miss any new opportunities that come up.

  • If you have a degree in publishing or relating to publishing, you would not be eligible for the Publishing Professional apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships are government-funded and have certain eligibility criteria. At Level 4, the Publishing Professional Apprenticeship is aimed at more entry-level learning within the publishing industry.

If you have a degree in a completely unrelated area that does not relate to publishing, you are more likely to be eligible for the apprenticeship.

  • We ensure all our applicants are within a one-hour commute of the address listed on the opportunity so we have a baseline to accept applications. Please do keep looking on our Career Hub to see if any opportunities come up that are a commutable distance from your current location.

  • You can apply for an apprenticeship without Maths or English GCSE qualifications.

However, if you have not achieved both or either GCSE (A-C/4-9) or Functional Skills Level 2, you will be required to do Functional Skills Level 2 alongside your apprenticeship with us.

To be invited to an interview, you will need to have passed initial assessments in Maths & English regardless of your GCSE result and is mandatory for all candidates.
