November Apprentice of the Month
Nyah Sawell
We are pleased to announce the winner of the LDN Apprentice of the Month for November is Nyah Sawell, Multi-Channel Marketer Apprentice @ Amazon
Nyah joined our Multi-Channel Marketer programme as part of the Amazon cohort earlier this year and has already made a huge impression in her role! Demonstrating a thirst for knowledge as well as successfully managing the creation of the Premium Brands Storefront and Traffic campaigns for the Winter Campaign project!
Check out all the awesome nominations we received in November as well as Nyah’s winning nomination below.
Nyah’s Skills Coach:
Nyah is one of our apprentices from our first Amazon cohort and she absolutely epitomises everything that both LDN and Amazon want in an apprentice.
She is curious, humbly confident, and not afraid to ask questions. Within her first three months on the apprenticeship, Nyah has been working on some MASSIVE marketing campaigns for Black Friday across five countries and brands like plus size, and premium brands and has taken on traffic campaigns for the winter collection.
I can tell she absolutely loves what she is doing and is a real pleasure to have on the course and I can already see big things happening for her in the future. When it comes to nominating someone for apprentice of the month, I couldn't think of a clearer candidate that deserves to be rewarded for their efforts so far and that is why she is in the running for it!
Nyah’s Line Manager:
How have they improved/impacted the business and the team since they started their apprenticeship?
Nyah has consistently improved since starting her apprenticeship with our marketing team. She's been receptive to guidance from senior colleagues, quickly implementing their advice while also showing initiative in her tasks. In a remarkably short time, Nyah has become an integral and trusted team member, contributing valuable insights during meetings and delivering high-quality work on specific projects. She has truly embraced the apprenticeship, and her enthusiasm for learning is evident through her work and commitment to everything.
What three words best describe them?
Curious - Nyah consistently demonstrates a thirst for knowledge about Marketing and Amazon's business operations. She actively seeks to understand every aspect of her role and the company.
Social - Her eagerness to meet new people and expand her professional network has positively impacted team dynamics and collaboration across departments.
Ambitious - Nyah's drive to grow and prove her abilities is evident in her willingness to take on challenging projects and her commitment to delivering exceptional results.
An example of an outstanding piece of work, project or task they have worked on.
After only three months, Nyah successfully managed the creation of our Premium Brands Storefront and Traffic campaigns for the Winter Campaign. She developed a creative brief, coordinated with the creative team to deliver appropriate assets for five marketplaces, and demonstrated excellent teamwork. Nyah's efficiency was remarkable, completing the storefront population in just three days—81% faster than usual. She autonomously conducted walk-throughs and fixed issues, ensuring a superior customer experience. This project showcased Nyah's ability to deliver high-standard results, earn trust from team members and stakeholders, and excel in a complex, multi-faceted task despite her short tenure.
Our runner-up for this month is LDN Salesforce Administrator Apprentice, Phillipa Fisher! Phillipa was nominated by LDN Skills Coach Hannah, with feedback provided by her line manager at IncomeMax.
Phillipa’s Skills Coach:
Pippa has shown tremendous dedication and initiative. She attended the Salesforce Admin training sessions and was happy to contribute her own ideas and experience as an admin to help other learners. She continues to demonstrate this in our live sessions too. She has produced well-thought-out project work using fantastic examples and evidence to meet the required criteria. She has also been involved in large pieces of work for IncomeMax and has spoken about the new Helpdesk System that she built in her portfolio.
Phillipa’s line manager:
Since starting her apprenticeship, Pippa has significantly enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. Through her training, she has quickly mastered key technical skills and applied them in innovative ways. For instance, her development of Partnership Dashboards provides instant, data-driven insights, replacing time-consuming manual reports. The apprenticeship has given her the tools to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions, such as a new Helpdesk System and Task Management System, which have improved our workflow and communication across the team.
Here’s what was said about the other brilliant nominees:
Kelly Wray @ Burgess Salmon
Kelly has grown in confidence since starting her apprenticeship. This is partly due to the validation of understanding just how much knowledge she already has! The business has no hesitation to ask Kelly for her input into projects and her opinion matters to her stakeholders - they have confidence in her!
Aurimas Rakauskas @ Bates Wells
Aurimas is doing an exceptional job in our ServiceDesk team. His efficiency in handling ServiceDesk tickets and answering calls to assist users has been remarkable. Additionally, Aurimas has shown great initiative by helping users with various software issues and creating detailed documentation on how to use the software. This documentation has been incredibly helpful and has been shared with the entire team. His dedication and proactive approach are highly appreciated.
Rashid Chohan @ Cranfield University
Rashid is a highly valued member of our digital education team. Originally from a more system and process-driven learning technologist role Rashid has, with the help of the apprenticeship, developed into a learning designer who works confidently with our academics to explore the benefits of digital learning and develop new postgraduate-level materials.
Abbey Ward @ Bloomsbury
From the moment that Abbey has joined our team, she’s had a huge positive impact. Her willingness to get stuck-in, to ask questions and to volunteer for tasks has been extremely helpful. Her can-do attitude meant that she was able to take on quite a few responsibilities fairly early on, which has really aided with the smooth-running of our department – particularly when it comes to looking after admin processes and organising/minuting meetings.
Lucy Lightbrown @ Transpennine Express
Lucy has made a massive impact to TPE, she is recognised as being the top performer from the 2023 cohort of apprentices. She has taken an active lead in developing projects and involved other apprentices to support, this includes leading on corporate responsibility activities, including charity donations and volunteering activities.
Amy Mitchell @ Pearson
Amy started her Apprenticeship to support her in the role of Content Developer and what a remarkable impact it has had! I believe Amy’s apprenticeship has been transformational – for her own development, our organisation, the rest of our team, and more widely, the community around her.
Bradley O'Connor @ Cavendish Nuclear
Bradley is conscientious and works to produce a high standard of work. I have seen real growth in Bradley, and seen his work and behaviours improve following feedback. I have seen Bradley’s confidence in his knowledge of social impact and the knowledge of the business grow.
Lauren Dossetter @ Pioneer Search
Lauren has been a fantastic addition to the team since she joined. She’s become an important part of the Operations team, helping to make sure all our processes are standardised and taking the pressure off the Recruitment Consultants by handling admin tasks. Her hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed - she was even voted MVP (Most Valued Pioneer) by the team. Lauren now works confidently on her own and proactively looks for new projects to take on, which is exactly what’s needed in this role.
